Attention doesn't scale

Products are evolving fast, but like too fast. I was used to see that app of my toolset promoting that feature I was excited about, giving me that sense of this is what I needed.

That peace was naturally living on cycles of user analysis and communication. Brand and software aligned to satisfy real user needs.

The market has shifted. I see products promoting features just because they've been in their backlog for a little while and engineers are able to iterate fast.

I'm just not sure where this form of creativity is leading to. I guess the market and users, just being human, will adjust.

The cost of keeping the trash flow isn't zero. It's not monetary, it's attention. And attention doesn't scale. There's no real mechanism that elevates it, no way to compound it. It stays almost linear: more inputs competing for it, less depth per thing. It fragments, and once that happens everything gets thinner.

And maybe that's the real shift. Not that people stop caring, but that care gets split until it spreads flat everywhere.
